Questions before you start
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Sign up with an email address and the books, payroll, invoicing, reports and tax forms are free for as long as you use them. A card is only asked for if you buy an add-on.
What is not free?
Three add-ons, each optional. File storage for documents and receipt images (5 GB for $3 a month, 25 GB for $6 a month, 100 GB for $15 a month). Receipt scanning, which reads a photo and fills in the amounts, using tokens you buy once and keep (50 scans for $12, 200 scans for $40, 500 scans for $85). And live bank feeds at $3 a month per connected bank.
Why charge for those three?
Each one costs us money every time you use it: storage space, the service that reads receipts, and the bank connection. Everything else runs on our own servers, so we give it away.
Is this real double-entry accounting?
It is. Every transaction is a balanced journal entry against a full chart of accounts, so your general ledger, trial balance, balance sheet and income statement always agree. Your accountant will feel at home.
Can my employees use it without seeing the books?
Yes. Roles control what each person can see. Employees can scan receipts from their phone or enter timesheets without any access to your financials.
Where is my data kept?
Each business gets its own isolated database, not a shared table with other customers. It is backed up daily, and you can export your reports whenever you like.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from your subscription page. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
